Operation Manager

Salary: £38000 - £40000

Emaan Trust is a UK based charity in Sheffield. We are aiming to establish a distinguished Islamic Centre in order to serve the Muslim Community in the city and the wider community as a whole by building bridges and creating channels for civilised communication and dialogue within what is the diverse and multi-belief city of Sheffield and surrounding areas. .Specifically, The Emaan Trust aims to promote greater understanding between communities, tolerance, respect and friendship through interfaith and intercultural work with and between the different communities. As British Muslims, alongside the Islamic values, we aim to promote British values of openness, freedom and democracy to enable for a community proud of its faith as well as the society in which it lives in and the values it upholds.We are approaching the last stage of the development phase of the new centre and in readiness for the opening of the centre we are looking to recruit an Operations Manager. .

The ideal candidate will have as follows:

  • Knowledge of Islamic disciplines and texts
  • Excellent Understanding of leadership within Islamic studies in the UK that adapt with British law.
  • Ability to speak and write fluent Arabic and English
  • Willingness to manage a flexible work schedule based on Islamic events and community special activities.
  • Leadership experience across multicultural environment with experience of working within a multi-disciplinary organisation structure.
  • Experience in strategic planning within charitable organizations.
  • Ability to develop Islamic programmes that support community and youth.
  • Proven track record of management and leadership of organizations.
  • Develop and implement operational systems, processes and policies in support of organisation’s mission -- specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organisation planning.
  • Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (HR, IT and Finance), through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.
  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
  • Oversee overall financial management, planning, systems and controls.
  • Manage the organisation's budget in coordination with the Trustees
  • Develop individual program budgets
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities to further the aims of the Charity.
  • Develop long-term forecasts and maintain long-term financial plans. Develop, maintain and monitor all fundraising and accounting systems and procedures capturing all pledges, billings and receipts and for the recording of all revenue transactions, recommend and implement improvements to systems.
  • Develop Islamic programs within the organisation consistent with British values, which will support the community and youth in line with British laws.
  • Organise and deliver seminars on Islamic disciplines to the attendees at the centre
  • Ensure that the Charity is compliant with UK laws.
  • Supervise educational and cultural programme of the centre.
  • Supervise and manage junior staff.
Languages:It is essential for the applicant to be fluent in both written and spoken Arabic and English
